Froufrous !

Le modèle Froufrous est en ligne ! Parfaites pour danser le French Cancan un jour de printemps. Tricotées de la pointe vers le haut, le talon est tricoté après coup (de pied, haha !). Le pied peut être tricoté en jersey+trou-trous ou en jersey simple. Vous pouvez également choisir de tricoter des petits froufrous ou des froufrous plus audacieux. Le modèle est disponible sur Ravelry.

Froufrous pattern is out! Perfect for dancing the French Cancan on a Spring day. These toe-up socks feature an afterthought heel and can be knit with an optional eyelet pattern. You can also choose to knit small froufrous or bold ones. The pattern is now available on Ravelry.

Superbe modèle. J'adore voir le point se métamorphoser quand je les enfile. J'ai suivi l'appel de Chez Machine Patterns et les ai tricotées en jaune, afin de sensibiliser le public au sujet de l'endométriose.

Jeune Pousse, de NCL Knits

Je l'ai terminé depuis un moment mais m'aperçois que je ne vous l'ai pas montré. Le voilà. C'est mon troisième, je ne me lasse pas de ce modèle. Quant au fil utilisé... Quelle douceur incroyable. Il s'agit d'un mérinos bio de Tasmanie, teint à la main, de chez White Gum Wool.

I finished this one some time ago but realise I hadn't showed you any pictures. Here it is. It is the third time I have knit this Jeune Pousse. I can't get enough. As for the yarn... Incredibly soft. It is some hand dyed organic merino from Tasmania, from White Gum Wool.

Bon, plus sur mes aiguilles mais pas encore 100% terminé... Il est au blocage en ce moment même :) Encore quelques heures à sécher et je pourrai m'envelopper dans cet océan de douceur moelleuse. Oh Boy/Oh Girl - Les Chaussettes

Il était temps que je me lance dans la réalisation de la seconde chaussette. Tic tac, plus qu'un mois et demi avant de faire la connaissance de notre fille :)


It was about time I should knit the second sock. Tic tac, one month and a half left before we get to meet our daughter :)

I have separated front and back, knit the front and bound off the front neck stitches.

J'ai bien avancé sur mon WTF?! C'est le projet sur lequel je me suis concentré ces deux dernières semaines. Il me reste à rabattre les 560 et quelques mailles en i-cord.
Quand je suis passée de la partie Brioche à la partie point mousse, je suis passée du tricot "processus" (process) au tricot "avancement" (progress).
J'adore l'agencement des couleurs, le modèle les met vraiment en valeur.

Making very good progress on my WTF?! shawl. It was my main project these past two weeks. I only have the i-cord bind off of the 560ish stitches left.
When I moved from the Brioche part to the garter part, I moved from being a process knitter to a progress knitter...
I just love how the colours are combined in this pattern.

Nouvelle technique pour nouvelle paire de chaussette : le rabattage tubulaire (tubular bind off). Très bien expliqué par Purl Soho, voyez par vous-même en suivant ce lien. Vous devez maîtriser la technique du kitchener stitch (grafting) d'abord.
Je n'utilise pas de modèle particulier pour cette paire de chaussette, mais plutôt ma "recette" personnelle : montage par la pointe, talon après-coup (de pied, ahah!), une cheville en jersey puis de longues côtes 2x2 pour pouvoir faire un revers.

A new technique for a new pair of socks: the long tail tubular bind off. For a clear tutorial by Purl Soho, follow this link.You will need to master the kitchener stitch first. I am nt using a particular pattern but my own recipe: toe-up construction, afterthought heel, stockinette stitch all the way apart for a long 2x2 ribbing section at the ankle, so I can fold the hem over.

Nouveau projet ! Avec la laine délicieuse Shelter de Brooklyn Tweed. De temps en temps, on y trouve un petit brin de paille, j'aime bien. Je tricote la taille S. J'ai été très raisonnable et ai fait non pas UN mais DEUX échantillons (je ne fais presque jamais d'échantillon...). En rond, bloqués, et tout et tout. Et bien une fois bien avancé, je vérifie l'échantillon et vois qu'il est trop petit (20 mailles au lieu de 18). Je me dis qu'une fois lavé, il retrouvera peut-être ses mesures de départ.

New project! With the gorgeous Shelter yarn by Brooklyn Tweed. From time to time, there is a bit of straw, which I love. I am knitting size S. I was a very good girl and did TWO swtaches. In the round. And blocked. I barely ever swatch. Well, I have knit a good 20cm and have just checked my gauge, to see. And it is too small (20 stitches instead of 18 for 4"). Once washed and blocked, it should be fine.

Froufrous
Le test est officiellement terminé ! Le modèle a été lu et relu. Il ne manque plus qu'à cliquer sur publier... Sortie officielle : jeudi 22 mars pour fêter l'arrivée du printemps !

The test knit is officially finished! the pattern has been read over and over again. Only need to click on "publish". The official release will take place on 22nd March, to celebrate the beginning of Spring!*

Semaine 8/Week 8 : Jamais sans mon tricot/Never not knitting!

Quand j'ai quitté la maison mercredi matin pour aller faire 2 courses, je me suis dit que ce n'était pas la peine de prendre mon tricot. Et puis une petite voix m'a dit : "ne quitte jamais la maison sans ton tricot". Notre van est tombé en panne à quelques centaines de mètres de la maison. J'ai passé un temps fou à attendre que l'assurance réponde au téléphone (beaucoup de personnes sont tombées en panne à cause de la vague de froid qui traverse la France), puis il a fallu encore attendre une heure pour que la dépanneuse arrive. Et c'est ainsi que j'ai pu passer à la section 6 de mon What The Fade ?!
JAMAIS SANS MON TRICOT !

When I left home on Wednesday morning, the thought of not taking my knitting crossed my mind. I was just going out for some quick shopping. And then a little voice told me :"Never leave home without your knitting". Our van broke down a few hundred meters from home. I was stuck on the phone waiting for ages for the insurance company to answer (the cold weather in France meant that many cars broke down) and then had to wait 1h for the garage to come and pick up the car. And this is how I moved on to section 6 of my What the Fade ?!

Challenge réussi :) Tricotées à 80% en utilisant la méthode continentale. Mon tricot est plus serré que d'habitude, comme à mes débuts. C'était comme d'apprendre à tricoter à nouveau. C'est ma seconde paire du Box O Sox 2018. Et mon challenge pour les Ravellenics (Equipe : Tricot and Co. Epreuve : Sock Hockey. Lauriers : Stash + un écheveau + Persévérance, un laurier spécial de la part de l'équipe de Tricot and Co). J'attends mon badge avec impatience !
Le modèle sortira sur Ravelry mi-mars... 
Mission accomplished :) 80% was knit using the continental method. My gauge is a bit tighter than usual, like when I started knitting. It was like kearning how to knit again. This is my second pair of socks for the Box O Sox 2018. And my challenge for the ravellenics.

Nouveau modèle/New pattern
Je continue à travailler sur un nouveau modèle de chaussettes en utilisant le fil Onion Nettle Sock Yarn. Il est composé de mérinos et de fibre d'ortie, très solide et souple. Une belle trouvaille dans ma quête de fils à chaussettes sans nylon ! 
Still working on a new sock design using Onion Nettle Sock Yarn. A wonderful discovery in my quest for natural sock yarn.

Nous nous sommes réunies avec les adhérentes de notre association Les Fibrophiles afin de préparer Tricotons la Ville 2018. Le but de cet événement est de rassembler le plus grand nombre autour du tricot et du crochet, d'inviter les gens à tricoter/crocher dans la rue et d'initier les curieux. En 2016, nous avions installé des milliers de carrés de tricot sur le Pont de Recouvrance à Brest. En 2017, nous nous étions installés dans les Ateliers des Capucins, à Brest également. Cette année, nous mettrons à l'honneur le tricot, le crochet mais également le tissage et le filage afin de montrer le chemin que parcourt le fil, de la toison à la création. Les demandes d'autorisations ont été envoyées à la mairie, nous attendons une réponse. We met last week with the members of our association Les Fibrophiles to prepare Tricotons la Ville 2018. The objective of this event is to gather the local knitters and crocheters, to invite them to knit/crochet in public and to initiate those who are curious about learning those skills. In 2016, we yarnbombed the Recouvrance Bridge in Brest with thousands of knitted squares. In 2017, we decorated 2 tables in the Ateliers des Capucins, in Brest. This year, we would like to honour knitting, crochet as well as weaving and spinning with demonstrations of the transformation from fluff to stuff. We have sent the authorisation requests to the City Council and are awaiting an answer.
